On February 11, 2015, KiDs Beach Club® reached an enrollment of 10,000 children. Thinking back 10 years ago when the first Beach Club was piloted in one school, we had no idea how far God would take us.  And we are sure He has more in store!

They’re here! 
Thanks to the gifts and prayers of many people, 10,000 KiDs Beach Club® Explorer Study Bibles have arrived in North Texas and soon will be in the hands of every child in every Beach Club.  Because of this generosity and monthly support of Bibles for Beach Club, thousands of volunteers nationwide will be handing out these Bibles in a celebration called Great Treasure Day in every one of our 144 clubs. 

On that special day during week 5 of Beach Club in February or March, our leaders will hand out these Bibles emphasizing how special and valuable this book is because it is God’s Word to us and therefore should be considered a treasure that should be treated respectfully. 

The first verse these kids will read out of their new Bible is Psalm 119:162 which is their memory verse for the day,  “I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great treasure.” Our Bible story leader will then have the kids turn to 2 Kings 22-23 where they will see a powerful example of how Josiah found a great treasure in God’s Word.  That story will then lead the children into a time of prayer and opportunity to accept Jesus as their Forever Friend.  For those who choose to accept Christ, leaders will direct them to one of our special tip-in pages (see below), which points out how to know God and how to pray and ask Jesus into their lives.

For many, this will be the very first Bible they have ever received and quite possibly the only Bible in their home.  You can help make Great Treasure Day possible for years to come by supporting Bibles for Beach Club. We received a beautiful testimony of two Sunday School classes from Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee.   Our local Area Director, Christy Hughes, was scheduled to share about Beach Club in one class, but she had no idea about the other.  She learned about the other class when their collected donations made their way to her to send to the KiDs Beach Club® main office. “Their gentle, quiet spirit in responding to God’s call made such and impression on me,” Christy said. 

During Christy’s visit to the scheduled class, she shared about the Beach Club program and specifically Bibles for Beach Club and how each child will be receiving their very own Bible.  At the conclusion of her presentation the class teacher, Renee, paused and shared that she felt convicted that their class needed to collect money for Bibles.  She told the class that she would match each Bible they provided up to 12 Bibles. “I was totally blown away,” Christy said.  Immediately, wallets came out and donations were given.   

The next week Renee shared with Christy that as she was going through a stack of mail she found an envelope she was not expecting.  It turned out to be a refund check.  This unexpected refund was for $245, five dollars more than the $240 she had pledged to match for Bibles. “When I saw the amount I knew immediately that God provided that refund for Bibles for Beach Club,” Renee said.  After a few weeks the class not only met their 12 Bible challenge, but also exceeded it by 4.5 Bibles.  Between both Sunday School classes, donations were given to provide 34 KiDs Beach Club® Explorer’s Study Bibles.

It is such an encouragement to see how God is bringing more and more people along side us in the effort to put a Bible into the hands of every Beach Club child. 

Picture this... A Beach Club child is waiting with a look of great anticipation as his or her Beach Club leader is about to announce who will receive the KiDs Beach Club® Devotional Bible this week. Now feel the excitement as that look of anticipation turns to sheer joy as their name is called and they are given their very own copy of God's Word. Some kids clutch it tight to their chest, others raise it in the air and nearly all of them want their picture taken when they get it. It is such a great part of Beach Club!

KiDs Beach Club® is unlike any other afterschool program because while the kids enjoy a snack and play games, they also get to learn important character words that they'll use for the rest of their lives. So far this school year, we've talked about such character building traits as having confidence, generosity, determination, love, orderliness, patience, responsibility, humility, obedience, thankfulness and respect.

We spotlight one character word each week from a story in the Bible. Take the word "confidence" for example. When the children see how Jesus had the power to calm a giant storm and save the lives of his disciples in Mark 4:35-41, they see that they too can have confidence in Him for the storms of their lives. The Bible is filled with so many inspirational stories that provide hope for us on a daily basis. Because it is important to us to give children a vision of hope for the future, this spring, we will be providing every child in every Beach Club, their very own KiDs Beach Club® Explorer's Study Bible.

We are thrilled to be handing out over 10,000 KiDs Beach Club® Explorer's Study Bibles to kids around the country in an effort we call, Bibles for Beach Club.
