Jack Terrell goes to Kids Camp
June 23-27 our very own Jack Terrell, President of KiDs Beach Club®, had the joy of serving as Camp Pastor for "The Expedition ... Journey to the center of the Truth" kids camp at Riverbend Retreat Center in Glen Rose, Texas.
Each night 560+ campers gathered for a time of high-spirited worship followed by a time of exploring the Bible. The faith of the kids was strengthened as Jack's teaching times focused on three simple words: Come. Change. Commit. He taught that we come to Jesus just as we are, "warts and all". When we encounter Jesus there is always going to be change because holiness leads to living a life sold out to Christ and we commit to follow Him once we know and believe He is God.
During the day Jack had fun shuttling kids around in a golf cart from one activity to another. Each child who got in his golf cart would begin sharing a part of his or her story. One young man named Caleb almost caused Jack to wreck.
As Jack and Caleb were talking, Jack learned Caleb was from Arlington, Texas and asked him what school he attended. Caleb exclaimed, "Mary Moore Elementary!" and Jack then asked if he knew about a Beach Club that meets after school there. Caleb quickly smiled back at Jack and said, "You mean KiDs Beach Club?" Caleb didn't stop there, he continued to tell Jack with the most enthusiasm you can imagine in a soon to be 4th grader that it was there that he received a Bible. He was so excited about telling Jack that his KBC Bible was given to him at school. When asked what he liked most about going to a Beach Club, Caleb quickly responded, "All of it. I like it all!"
Now you can see why this might have caused Jack to wreck his golf cart. Reaching children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the heartbeat of Jack and the ministry of KiDs Beach Club®. It is our honor and privilege to partner with local churches to share this good news on public school campuses. Connecting KiDs to Christ ... Putting Bibles in their hands!

Annual Area Director Retreat
June 19-21, KiDs Beach Club® Area Directors from all over the US gathered together in Euless, Texas for three days of training and team building. The team reviewed new ministry programs, like Bibles for Beach Club, in order to effectively communicate with partnering church leaders about how God is at work through KBC. Guest trainer, Charles Lamb, provided useful steps and lots of encouragement in talking with pastors and helping new churches partner with KBC.
Team building fun included a trip to Texas U Can Paint, where an instructor led the Area Directors to paint sunset beach scenes including a lighthouse, representing Jesus' light that shines through their ministry in Beach Clubs. And many thanks to Board Member, Randy Williamson and his wife Amy, who hosted a fantastic cookout for all KBC Staff, Area Directors, and Executive Board members. It was a relaxing evening of fellowship and conversation.
This annual event is designed to re-charge and equip Area Directors to effectively be KBC's "feet on the ground" in their respective parts of the country.

Summer Reading Plan - June
It is our privilege and joy to impact the lives of children through Beach Club! Along with teaching them from the Bible each week we encourage them to read the Bible for themselves.
We have created a KBC Summer Reading Plan to help children stay connected to God's Word and keep up their reading skills during the summer. You can click here to download the June plan. Along with the reading plan are some "Go Deeper!" questions that you can talk about as a family. We will also have daily social media reminders ... so be sure to keep up with us on facebook and twitter.
Stay tuned for the July and August reading plans.

Lord, Open My Eyes
And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
2 Kings 6:17
Sight is one of the five senses that human beings had been given to process stimuli. It is by sight that we can see a car coming and stop on time before being hurt. It is by sight that we move and relate with our surroundings. When we see…we believe. Because seeing get us in contact with tangible things. Sight can be affected by genetics, medical conditions, and developmental changes. But sight can also be shadowed by our circumstances. To name a few: unemployment, cancer, austerity, family problems, divorce, death, and chronic illness, among others. Indeed, our circumstances can make us unable to see with clarity what we have ahead of us or how to respond. We start to feel anxious, fearful, hopeless, and shift our sight from the One who has assured us to be with us always, Jesus Christ. Now, please don’t feel sorry or guilty for experiencing this. Our humanity usually drives us to hopeless places when we feel we lose control over our circumstances.
