James 5:16b – The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Club Leader Gene Parks shared a story with us about a young man in Grace Hardeman Elementary in Watauga, Texas.

Hardeman Beach Club^® had a friend, whom we will call Billy. You see, Billy wasn’t attending Beach Club^®. And according to Gene, his friend wanted Billy to come, but apparently, Billy’s mother was hesitant to let him be a part of the club.

After learning about God in his club, the boy realized that he needed to ask God for some help in getting his friend Billy to join in the fun! So when he was asked to write down any prayer requests he might have, the boy simply wrote:

 “My friend Billy because his mom won’t let him come.”

We know, as we read in James 5, that the prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much!

And guess what? God heard that prayer and Gene reported that Billy’s mom had filled out a registration form to allow Billy to attend Beach Club^®!

Gene wrote, “TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Great things are happening at Beach Club^®!” Great things, indeed!

Beach Clubs^® around the country have now ended. Summer is upon us. AND leaders are showing their gratitude for a great year! Here's what we've heard...

"I know I speak for everyone when I say the member(s) of El Bethel have truly enjoyed being a part of KiDs Beach Club^®! Even though this past week was our last meeting, we are already planning for a great next year! Thank you to all the volunteers, Mulkey staff/admin, and the parents who allowed us to be a small part of their child's life! ...To all our KiDs, we love you. God loves you, and have a great summer!"

We loved our year of KiDs Beach Club^® at Charger Academy! Students were amazing and enjoyed coming every single week. Our volunteers loved pouring Jesus into these kids each week. As we had our end of the year party last week, we look forward to next year! Thanks for a wonderful year!

10,000+ Reasons to Celebrate!

Are we there yet? With family vacations planned for summer, you will likely hear this question from someone. It's also a question our staff has been asking for months!

You see, many pages of our website contain what we call our "ticker." it is a live meter that visually represents what God has done through KiDs Beach Club^® (KBC) since the inception of the ministry, specifically the tangible results seen during a Beach Club^® in a public school.

The "ticker" measures our volunteer count, the number of Bibles distributed in public schools, the number of kids who have registered for Beach Club^® over the years, and, yes, the number of kids who have made a Profession of Faith in Christ in Beach Club^®. Yes, you read that right! The ticker represents only the lives touched in a public-school setting! Countless others have been written in the Lamb's Book of Life, as they have made decisions OUTSIDE of Club.

Our staff has been eagerly watching our website ticker for months, knowing how close we were to some amazing milestones. "Are we there yet?" has been a daily question!

Why, you ask? Because we can finally say that we have 10,000+ reasons to celebrate!

In the last month, we have witnessed an incredible milestone here at KBC! We have seen the miracle of the 10,000th child (and counting!) be recorded as making Jesus their Forever Friend! We've also seen our Bible distribution count rise well above 75,000. Additionally, we are within 100 volunteers of having over 25,000 volunteers!

Yes, these are amazing milestones to celebrate, and we hope you are singing with the angels as you read this! But back to the original question: Are we there yet?

The answer is a clear: NO WAY! By no means are we there yet! We believe God has big plans for KBC, and they don't include getting us to a milestone, only to stop the momentum! Until He returns, we will NEVER be there!

But praise God with us for getting us this far!

Orel "The Bulldog" Hershiser

Born in 1958, Orel Leonard Hershiser IV dreamed of being a major-league pitcher. Drafted in 1979 by the L.A. Dodgers, he struggled in the minor leagues, but in 1983, his opportunity to shine finally came when he was called up to big leagues. Hershiser had a mental toughness like no other pitcher – that’s why they called him “The Bulldog!” He went on to become a World Series Champion, World Series MVP, three-time All Star, Cy Young Winner, two-time League MVP, Gold Glove Award winner, and he still holds the major league record of 59 consecutive scoreless innings pitched!

After winning the World Series in 1988, Hershiser gave all glory to God on national television by singing the Doxology on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. This great Champion had a dream, and he didn’t let the scouts, critics, or anyone else prevent him from pursuing it. When he retired, he did so with dignity, knowing he had done all he could with the gifts God had given him.

Like The Bulldog, we are determined to pursue our dreams until Jesus returns. Our vision of giving every preteen boy and girl a Jesus experience is one that we will never give up.
